Question sources and limits
The questions are practice material. This page shows which ones count toward scores, how their sources are labelled, and where checks are incomplete.
What the source labels mean
Rulebook
The answer refers to the rules of the game. A rulebook label does not mean every section number has been checked; citation counts below show the remaining uncertainty.
Consensus
The standard for strategy questions is agreement across at least three recorded sources. It does not establish that one choice works for every player or situation.
Provisional
These questions count toward scores but have not met that source standard. Treat their explanations as starting points to discuss and test on court.
Excluded
Questions marked single-source, contested, level-dependent, unaudited, or retired are excluded from the scoring pool. They remain in the bank for reference.
Questions by skill
Rulebook references
Counts include every question with a rulebook reference, including excluded questions. The labels describe the bank's records, not an independent verification of the answers.

Practice estimates
The score and level ranges describe performance on these questions. They have not been validated as equivalents to playing ratings. Read how scoring works.
Teaching references
A coach's name in an explanation identifies a public teaching reference. It does not mean the coach wrote the question, checked the answer, or endorses this test.
Question an answer
Use Question feedback beside the answers to describe a concern and add a source link. The note identifies the exact question and content version. Copying a note does not send it to us. Where an email option is offered, review the draft and send it from your email app; the website does not send it automatically.
About Pickleball IQ
Pickleball IQ is an independent educational website covering decision-making, strategy and the wider game. Articles credited to Pickleball IQ are site-authored, not guest posts or endorsements by the players and organizations they mention.
We use AI assistance in writing, development and labelled illustrations. Linked sources let you check reported events and rule references. Licensed photographs carry their own credits; a file photo or illustration is not evidence that we attended an event. Strategy exercises are original practice suggestions, not proof of improved match performance.
Publication dates identify when a story appeared here. An Updated date marks a substantive content change, not an automatic refresh. Brand resource links and paid placements are kept distinct; see our advertising disclosure.
Pickleball IQ complements DUPR and UTR-P ratings; it does not replace them.
