We want Pickleball IQ to be a resource worth returning to and sharing: a place to learn, support one another, and bring useful ideas back to your partners, coaches and clubs.

Research offers a reason to explore tactical learning. It also gives us a reason to be precise about what a quiz can tell you.
What our scores meanIn a small study of 21 students, tactical understanding improved during badminton lessons and was maintained during subsequent pickleball lessons, as assessed through gameplay decisions. Mitchell & Oslin, 1999.
Related tennis research found that video practice against a specific opponent improved prediction of that opponent's shot direction in the video test. Triolet & Benguigui, 2025.
Neither study tested this website. Pickleball IQ Test has not been validated to predict wins, playing ratings or on-court improvement. Use it to explore your understanding and choose what to practise. Pickleball IQ complements DUPR; it is not a playing rating.
Research checked September 20, 2026. These findings inform the educational rationale, not a claim of scientific validation for our test.
